In 1996, Colonel Jones was reassigned as the Operations Officer (S-3), Headquarters and Services Battalion, 2d Force Service Support Group, Camp Lejeune, NC. Upon his return to Camp Lejeune, he was assigned as the Logistics Officer for the Squadron and was promoted to the rank of Captain. In 1995, Lt Jones was sent to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to participate in OPERATION SEA SIGNAL as the Deputy Joint Forces Logistics Officer (J-4A).
